Heckington teenager James Martin has been offered a two-year academy contract with top rugby side Leicester Tigers.
On Sunday, the 15-year-old played his eighth game for Tigers’ under-16s, setting up the winning try in his side’s 12-10 victory over Wasps.
His move up to the academy ranks is the next step towards his ultimate goal of playing professionally.
James’ father, Simon, played rugby for Coventry in the 1990s.
Congratulations to James. The whole village is extremely proud of you and we wish you every success.
